SAS Minute

What is it?

The Minute function returns the minute value from a value or argument
The function can calculate the minute based on either a SAS Time value or a SAS DateTime Value

Syntax:

Minuted(time or datetime);

SAS Minute Statement:

SAS Minute Example:

Data work.my_data_file;

Result_1 = Minute(time());
Result_2 = Minute(datetime());

Run;

What's happening in the script above?

The Minute(); Function is calculating the current minute (which in this example is based on 11:35pm
The Minute(); Function only returns a value ranging from 0 to 59;

Hour Example:

Variable	Input	Output	Description
Result_1	Minute(Time());	35	This function was run at 11:35pm EST
Result_2	Minute(datetime());	35	This function was run at 11:35pm EST
